The Service

What Every Tuning Includes

No surprises. Everything your piano needs to sound its best is covered in a single visit.

Full Tuning to A440

Every string brought to concert pitch. Standard tuning takes 60–90 minutes depending on the piano's condition.

In-Home Service

We come to you. All tuning is done on-site — no moving your piano, no hauling it anywhere.

All Makes & Types

Upright, grand, player piano acoustic side — all makes and sizes. If it has strings, we can tune it.

Voicing Assessment

We'll let you know if voicing would benefit your piano's tone. Voicing is a separate service available at the same visit.

Condition Feedback

After tuning, you'll hear an honest assessment of your piano's overall condition — no upselling, just what we observe.

Beyond Tuning

Piano Voicing

Tuning brings your piano back to pitch. Voicing is what shapes its tone — the difference between a piano that sounds harsh and brittle and one that sounds warm and even across every note.

Over years of playing, the felt on the hammers hardens and compacts, and the sound can turn bright and clangy — or, in other pianos, dull and lifeless. Voicing carefully adjusts those hammer felts to even out the tone and bring the instrument back to how it's meant to sound.

A piano can be perfectly in tune and still need voicing — they're separate things. If your piano has ever felt “off” even right after a tuning, tone is usually why. At your tuning visit, your technician will tell you honestly whether voicing would make a real difference for your piano, or whether it's fine as it is.

Voicing is billed separately from tuning. Ask about it when you book and we'll quote it with your tuning.

FAQ

Piano Tuning Questions

How often should a piano be tuned?
Twice a year is the standard for most home pianos — once in the fall when heat comes on, once in the spring when humidity shifts. Pianos in churches, schools, and performance venues typically benefit from every 3–4 months. If your piano hasn't been tuned in several years, it may need additional work before a standard tuning can hold.
What's included in a standard tuning?
A complete tuning to A440 concert pitch. The visit typically takes 60–90 minutes depending on the piano's condition.
What is voicing and do I need it?
Voicing adjusts the tone quality of individual notes by modifying the density of the hammer felts. If your piano sounds too bright and harsh, or dull and muted, voicing can bring it back into balance. It's separate from tuning — a piano can be perfectly in tune and still benefit from voicing. Your technician will let you know at the tuning visit whether voicing would help your instrument.
How does the bulk rate work?
A reduced per-piano rate applies when you schedule 4 or more. They don't all have to be tuned in a single day — we can spread visits across your schedule while keeping the bulk rate. Just let us know how many pianos you have when you reach out.
Do you tune player pianos?
Yes. The acoustic side of a player piano is tuned the same way as any other piano. If you also need player system repair — pneumatics, bellows, or roll mechanism — that's handled separately by our player piano technician. We can coordinate both in a single trip. See our player piano repair page for details.
Do you come to us or do we bring the piano?
We come to you. All tuning is done in-home or on-site, anywhere in Georgia. There's no need to move your piano.
